BILLS KO'D IN BLOWOUT VS PATRIOTS; SPILLER AND JACKSON IN ACTION
The Buffalo Bills got a little revenge from last year's victory against the Pats as New England won over the Bills, 52-28. Ryan Fitzpatrick went 22 for 39 passing with 350 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller both were activated for today's game, but it didn't put the punch into the Patriots defense as it was expected. Jackson had 13 carries for 29 yards and a fumble, but had 3 catches for 50 yards. C.J. Spiller had 8 carries for 33 yards and a fumble. Fitzpatrick has relied on tight end Scott Chandler so far this year, and boy do the stats show. Chandler had 4 catches for 62 yards along with 2 touchdowns. Stevie Johnson only had 2 catches for 23 yards. Not only did the quarterback from Harvard found Chandler in the end zone, Fitzpatrick connected with Donald Jones (2 catches, 90 yards, touchdown), and Brad Smith (2 catches, 49 yards, touchdown) as well.
Tom Brady made Bills fans even more frustrated as he went 22 for 36 passing with 340 yards and 3 touchdowns along with a 4 yard run into the end zone. Undrafted running back Brandan Bolden had 16 carries for 137 yards and a touchdown, and Stevan Ridley had 22 carries for 106 yards and 2 touchdowns. Wes Welker had 9 catches for 129 yards along with a fumble, which was later recovered by Jarius Byrd. Rob Gronkowski had another monsterous game as he had 5 catches for 104 yards and a touchdown along with a fumble, which was recovered by Byron Scott. Former Redskins wide receiver Brandan Lloyd had 3 catches for 50 yards and a touchdown, and little Danny Woodhead also had a touchdown as well. On the defensive side for the Pats, Devon McCourty had 2 interceptions, and Tevan Wilson and Jerod Mayo had an interception. Dont'a Hightower and Chandler Jones each had a sack.
The Bills defense was only able to bring Brady down only once in the entire game with Kyle Williams and Marcell Dareus getting half the credit apiece. The Bills are now 2-2 on the season and will take on the San Francisco 49ers next week in San Francisco.
